Your life belongs to you

DayTrace is built around local journaling. We respect every word, every image, and your control over your private life.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 4, 2026

This policy explains how DayTrace (the “Application”) handles journals, media, location, and weather information. We currently operate no server that stores user journals.

1. Journal and Local Data

Journal text, moods, weather, places, favorites, and imported photos and videos are stored locally on your device by default. We do not upload journal content to our own servers.

2. Photos, Camera, and Media

The Application requests Photos or Camera access only when you add media. Selected media is copied to local app storage for journal display and exports you initiate.

3. Location and Weather

With permission, approximate location is used for places and weather. The Application uses Apple MapKit on iOS 26 or later, Apple Core Location on earlier versions, Apple WeatherKit, and Open-Meteo when needed. These services may receive coordinates to return address or weather results and are governed by their own privacy terms.

4. Sharing and Export

Journal cards are generated only when you request an export. Sharing is handled by the iOS share sheet, and you choose all recipients, applications, and channels.

5. Third-Party Services

The current version contains no advertising SDKs and uses no third-party behavioral tracking, cross-app tracking, or profiling services.

6. Data Management and Deletion

You may delete records and media in the Application. Uninstalling may remove local data that has not been backed up, so export important content first.

7. Children’s Privacy

DayTrace is not designed to collect children’s personal information and does not transmit journal content to our servers.

8. Policy Updates

We may update this policy as features, services, or laws change. Revised content and dates will be published here.
